Wisconsin lawyers have a tradition of service to the community through pro bono work. Our Volunteer Lawyers Project offers attorneys the opportunity to carry on this important tradition.  No matter your level of experience or area of expertise, Legal Action needs you because our clients need you.

Consumer Advocacy & Bankruptcy Advice Project

Attorneys register to assess the merits of each client's case and provide legal advice. Complete the Consumer-Bankruptcy Volunteer Form and fax, mail or email it to the Volunteer Lawyers Project.  (Contact information is on the form.)

Domestic Violence Injunction Project

Attorneys volunteer to prepare for and appear at final injunction hearings. To serve on this project, please contact the VLP Coordinator at 414-278-7722 or 1-888-278-0633.

Legal Advice Projects

Volunteer attorneys interview clients at sites in Milwaukee, Dane, Racine and Walworth Counties.  Volunteers assess the merits of each client's case and provide legal advice.  Complete the form below that best matches your skills and interests and fax, mail or email it to the Volunteer Lawyers Project.  (Contact information is on the form.)

Pro Bono QDRO Project

Volunteer employee benefit attorneys assist VLP and Legal Action attorneys in cases where QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) issues arise.  Contact the VLP Coordinator at 414-278-7722 or 1-888-278-0633.
