Milwaukee Municipal Court Defense Project
PROJECT GOAL
Municipal tickets (such as retail theft, battery, and disorderly conduct) can prevent people from getting jobs and housing. In addition, when court debts accumulate, people may have their driving privileges suspended, and courts may order arrest warrants and jail time, making it even harder to get a good, entry-level job.
Legal Action's Municipal Court Defense Project helps low-income adults in Milwaukee when they are struggling with these problems. Our project attorneys work to reduce or eliminate the legal barriers that arise from problems in Milwaukee Municipal Court and that keep Milwaukeeans from becoming economic independence.
